The Art Center of Estes Park was established in 1987 and offers an extensive collection of fine art including painting, photography, jewelry, ceramics, glass, fiber, and woodworking. In addition, we present opportunities for education in the visual arts, and act as an advocate and partner for community arts development.

This was the vision of several local artists, many of whom are still participating members. We are dedicated to education and excellence in the visual arts, and is operated through artist and community volunteers, membership, sales, and donations. Our mission is to provide a facility that supports and promotes regional artists; to present opportunities for education in the visual arts, and to act as an advocate and partner for community arts development.
The Center now represents local and regional artists from across the Rocky Mountain area. We feature the high-quality artwork of 40 local Colorado artists in a broad selection of media. Whether you’re searching for a large piece of fine art or photography to enhance your home, or the perfect gift of jewelry, fiber, pottery, or a notecard for a friend, we have it.
We feature a new exhibit approximately every six weeks, opened by a public reception featuring refreshments and entertainment. We invite you to come and view these fine artists' work and to shop for additions to your home or business collections.

Having lived in Estes Park for 52 years (almost a native), I consider myself fortunate to have raised a family here, operated a business here, and to have had a fulfilling 33 year career in the fire service, serving the Estes Park community as Fire Chief for 20 years.
I have always been appreciative of the beauty of nature and enjoyed capturing this beauty in photographs. As I approached retirement from my career as a Fire Chief, I began fulfilling a long-time goal of learning as much as I could about digital photography with an emphasis on landscapes. I have attended classes through Nikon, Scott Kelby Photography, Lighthaus Camera, and National Geographic. I also had the privilege of studying under one of Colorado’s most renowned landscape photographers, John Fielder.
I have gradually expanded my skills and heeded the often-heard advice, always have your camera ready and take lots of pictures! I am blessed to live in two areas that provide unending opportunities to develop my craft – Estes Park, Colorado and the Big Island of Hawaii.

Using my Nikon D800 full frame camera, I have enjoyed shooting varied and beautiful scenery – majestic mountain ranges, the Milky Way, lava flows and waterfalls, to name a few. I strive, through my photography, to make the viewer feel as if they are standing at the very spot.

My photographs have been displayed at The Studio Fine Art and Framing and the Art Center of Estes Park. One of my Hawaiian photographs was used as the signature photo for the mobile application of a property management company on the Big Island of Hawaii. After taking part in an amazing photo institute at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, my image of the G-61 lava flow entry was selected from a field of submissions for publication in Hawai’i Magazine for the Friends of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

As I continue to expand my knowledge and experience in this medium, I look forward to the many opportunities to share the natural world as seen through my lens.
